Three Plant Sciences students with concentrations in Sustainable Landscape Design, recently presented their research and work at Discovery Day on Tuesday, September 22nd, 2026, in Hodges Library. Discovery Day is an annual event in the fall that showcases the research and creative work of undergraduate students at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
Each student presented a poster highlighting work developed through undergraduate research projects with faculty mentor Professor Clint Wayman and supported by the Office of Undergraduate Research and Fellowships.
Their projects focused on landscape strategies in nature-based early childhood education spaces through hands-on investigation, observation, and research, showcasing the range of opportunities available to Plant Sciences students beyond the classroom. Avenlea Alford, Ty Osterhage and Leo Bonifacio all participated.
