BEACON returns this October for its third year! BEACON26 is a turfgrass career event designed for current turfgrass students to interact with employers and faculty over the course of two days. Taking place October 13th and 14th, this year’s event will feature new professional development and career readiness workshops, as well as a reverse career fair, where students stay put.
Registration is required and this year the entire event will take place on UTK’s campus in the Agriculture and Natural Resources Building. This event is open to students from other schools as well and student registration is free. Student participation however will be limited, so current turfgrass students are encouraged to register as soon as possible here if they are sure of their attendance.
After registering, students will receive a questionnaire that they should fill out. The answers from this questionnaire will be shared with employers in advance to help them have a better understanding of the students participating. Additionally, this questionnaire will help students order personalized TapTag digital business cards. Students are advised to pay close attention to how they enter their name and to complete the follow-up form by September 18th in order to receive a card with their name printed on it.
Currently, the following employers are registered attendees:
- Augusta National Golf Club
- Big Cedar Golf
