Dr. Virginia Sykes, Associate Professor in the Department of Plant Sciences, was recently awarded the Early Maturer Award by the Southern Cover Crops Council at the Southern Cover Crops Conference in Gainesville, Florida. This award is given to early-career professionals in academic, research, government agency, or industry, with a substantial portion of their work dedicated to cover crops. Specifically, this award highlights individuals who have outstanding early contributions to the cover cropping community and who have demonstrated significant impact or innovation early in their career. Congratulations Dr. Sykes on this achievement!
