The Department of Plant Sciences would like to congratulate Associate Professor and Director of the UT Beef & Forage Center Dr. Bruno Pedreira, who was recently awarded the 2026 American Forage & Grassland Council Merit Award at the American Forage & Grassland Council (AFGC) Annual Conference. The Annual Conference took place earlier this month in Asheville, North Carolina.

According to the American Forage & Grassland Council website, the Merit Award “is presented to individuals who have made superior contributions in some phase of forage and grassland agriculture. Recipients have earned recognition among their colleagues for work and productivity in forage or grassland agriculture in research, teaching, Extension, production, or industrial development.” Click here for more information about the AFGC Awards Program.
