The Plant Sciences Graduate Student Association hosts a seminar exchange each year. The exchange gives students an opportunity to hone their skills, presenting their work and research to a scientific audience. This event also allows graduate students an opportunity to travel to other college campuses, expanding their professional network. Participating universities are matched with another university, a host is determined, and the other school will travel to the hosting school, where representatives from each school present their research in the seminar exchange. Two students are chosen as representatives for the University of Tennessee from the Graduate Student Oral Competition (one MS and one PhD). When we, the University of Tennessee, host two students at our school, the graduate students plan to attend their seminar, have a meal, and introduce themselves, showing hospitality and professionalism.
Participating schools past and/or present include: University of Tennessee, Auburn University, University of Kentucky, University of Georgia, North Carolina State University, Virginia Tech, and Ohio State University.
Our next seminar exchange will take place March 31st, 2025 from 12:40 – 1:30 PM in Plant Biotech Building, Room 160.
