The Hewezi Laboratory is a plant molecular biology lab focused on agricultural improvement through genetic and epigenetic research of plant-microbe interactions. The lab uses fundamental and applied research of plant-pathogenic nematode interactions to discover new sources of nematode resistance for major crop species. In addition, the group seeks to understand functional roles of microRNA, the protein kinase gene family, and various controls of soybean nodulation and nutrient transport.
Undergraduate students interested in work opportunities should submit their name, class, resume, and a short statement of intent.
